Queen - Freddy Mercury - Wembley 1986

In a list of my favourite albums of the last 30 years Queen really can’t be missing. In 1986 they had already released numerous albums and were one of the most celebrated bands of their time. That year they released A Kind Of Magic, which featured songs like One Vision, Who Wants To Live Forever and the title song A Kind Of Magic.

Although the band was already well established by then, they still knew how to renew themselves and release beautiful and grandiose songs that rocked the world. And more than that, they did the Magic tour, with their legendary Wembley Stadium performance.

I think it’s fair to say that as an artist Freddy Mercury is up there with Prince and Michael Jackson, the way he knew to move a crowd, the bigger the crowd the better perhaps. See the legendary Wembley Stadium performance.

Although A Kind Of Magic might not be their best album, it sure is a great album. And as Queen was one of those bands I listened to all the time during my childhood, they just need to be included in this list. From Bohemian Rhapsody to We Will Rock You, and from I Want To Break Free to Another One Bites The Dust, I knew them all by heart.

One of my favourites is Who Wants To Live Forever. A beautiful, emotional song that is brought to life perfectly in their Wembley performance in 1986 below.
